Formentera has no airport. You reach it by ferry from Ibiza: a 30-minute fast boat from Ibiza Town, or a slower scheduled crossing. Most travelers arrive at La Savina port on the north end. To drop bags and be poolside quickly, Gecko Beach House in Migjorn is a 15-minute drive south. To skip renting a car, book in Es Pujols, where Five Flowers Hotel is walkable to restaurants and the beach.

Most Formentera hotels close from late October through April, so your realistic booking window is May through September. July and August sell out months in advance at the better properties. With flexible dates, early June or late September gives you warm water and lower rates without peak crowds. La Masia de Formentera, rated 4.8 by guests, is easier to lock down in shoulder season. The most affordable window is midweek in the off-season, when jacuzzi suites that normally run $150 drop below $100.
